On 17 July 2026, the Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association, Inc. (PMAAAI) and the Philippine Military Academy Retirees Association, Inc. (PMARAI), in partnership with the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC), successfully conducted a Free Vaccination Drive for PMARAI members and their spouses, reaffirming their shared commitment to safeguarding the health and well-being of the military retiree community.

The activity commenced with the vaccination proper, during which the dedicated VMMC medical team efficiently and safely administered 118 influenza (flu) vaccines and 46 pneumococcal (pneumonia) vaccines, benefiting a total of 164 PMARAI members and their spouses. The vaccination process was carried out in an organized and orderly manner, with the enthusiastic participation and cooperation of the members contributing significantly to the smooth and successful conduct of the activity.

A short program followed the vaccination drive. CAV ROMEO C PRESTOZA ’78, Chairman of PMARAI, delivered the opening remarks, welcoming the participants and expressing gratitude to all partner organizations, volunteers, and members for their unwavering support. This was followed by a message from DR. JAN PATRICK C MANGROBANG, Chairman of the Mission Medical Committee, who underscored the importance of preventive healthcare and regular immunization in protecting retirees and their families against vaccine-preventable diseases.

In recognition of their invaluable service and dedication, Certificates of Appreciation were presented to the 20 VMMC volunteers, whose professionalism and commitment greatly contributed to the successful conduct of the vaccination drive. The program concluded with the closing remarks of CAV RICARDO A DAVID JR. ’77, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of PMAAAI, who emphasized that the success of the initiative was the result of the collective efforts of VMMC, PMAAAI, PMARAI, the Organizing Committee, the Mission Medical Committee, the volunteers, and the members who participated in the vaccination drive. A photo opportunity followed to commemorate the successful event.

The PMAAAI and PMARAI extend their heartfelt appreciation to the VMMC, the Organizing Committee, PMAAAI and PMARAI, the 20 VMMC volunteers, and, most especially, the PMARAI members and their spouses who participated in the vaccination drive. Their trust, cooperation, and active participation made this meaningful health initiative a resounding success.

The successful vaccination drive reflects the continuing commitment of PMAAAI and PMARAI to promote preventive healthcare, enhance the quality of life of their members, and strengthen partnerships that advance the welfare of the PMA alumni and retiree community.
